Michigan destination weddings are becoming an increasing popular trend. With brides wanting an unforgettable wedding in a truly unique place, Michigan can be the perfect choice.
Not everyone wants to get married at a local church, party with their friends at a quick reception, and then take off for a honeymoon vacation. Some prefer to turn their entire wedding into a festive vacation that none of their guests will ever forget. These people choose a destination wedding, which basically means the wedding is held at a destination away from home. The honeymoon may be in the same location, or it may be at yet another well chosen destination.

Michigan is the chosen destination for many weddings because the state offers beautiful scenery not found in many other states. There are a variety of venues for ceremonies and receptions, and they aren’t all your standard beach scenes. While there are beach areas in Michigan, you will also find sweeping mountain views and an assortment of unique destinations not to be found anywhere else.
Current Michigan Destination Wedding Trends
There is more to planning a destination wedding than selecting the destination and booking your dates. You have to decide who can make it to the destination and ensure everyone has travel arrangements well in advance. You also have to make sure everything you need from your dress to the flowers and the unity candle are at the destination on time. Many of the top trends in destination weddings right now make the planning process easier.
1. Forget about buying everything for your wedding at home and trying to haul or ship it to your destination. Brides and grooms are now taking advantage of services local to their chosen destination. It is quite easy to find Michigan florists and tuxedo rental services online and contract with them for your wedding. This allows you to travel light and still have access to everything needed for your dream wedding.

2. Exotic is out, personal and friendly is in. Destination weddings used to refer to weddings held in exotic locations, which were typically out of the country. That has changed drastically, as most couples are now choosing to get married at locations closer to home, but which offer warm, friend environments and beautiful scenery. This is why Michigan has become so popular. It isn’t a major trip so most guests can still make it, yet you can find all of the luxury and beauty you desire.
3. Make it all-inclusive. More and more couples are now booking wedding destinations that offer all-inclusive deals, and that includes staying at the same location for the honeymoon. An all-inclusive deal will bundle all basic expenses for the wedding into one convenient package. The couple can pay one place and one time for the wedding ceremony, reception space, hotel accommodations, and sometimes even meals and decorative options. Not only is this often more affordable, but it is extremely convenient.
4. Going out of season. You can typically get better travel deals when you go out of season, and many couples are choosing to go slightly out of season for their destination weddings. This makes it more affordable for them, but also reduces travel expenses for their guests.
